Earlier today it was announced that the New Orleans Saints and Derek Carr agreed to a 4-year/$150 million deal. Reports are that over $100million of that contract is guaranteed. It was widely speculated that Carr would go to the Jets', but he ends up in New Orleans after the Saints had a very disappointing season. The financial figure might look suprisingly high to some, but that is how much QB's are getting paid these days.
In NY land, Daniel Jones will more than likely ask for something in the $40 millions. The Jets will need to turn to other options which include Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers or San Fran's Jimmy Garroppolo. Rodgers is 39 years old, and has about $50 million owed to him each year for the two years left on his contract, and has to be acquired via a trade. Jimmy G also needs to be acquired by trade, but with SF's QB situation, he won't fetch that big of a haul. Decision time for the Jets!
